We understand that advocating on an individual basis for our gifted young people, as parents, teachers and other key stakeholders, can be isolating and exhausting. With this in mind, we are asking for your help and voice so that we can work together to advocate for change at a government level.

We are asking the current government to implement mandatory professional learning in gifted education for teachers. Although this may not be the precise accommodation that your gifted young person needs, in this moment, we believe that this approach has the potential to enact real change for all gifted young people. We want to alleviate the need for individual advocacy as providing for the needs of gifted young people would be embedded into teacher training. We are asking for your support and input for this advocacy campaign by signing up for this event, personalising the attached letter and emailing it to your local member. Dear Member of Parliament - Template - Gifted WA.docx

To support you, we will be hosting a Zoom event on Sunday 16th May at 3:00pm. You do not need to have sent your letter to your local MP by this date and you can come with any questions you have. You can find your local electorate here. Please pledge your commitment here.
